How to promote your blog and achieve your goal of One Million Hits…or more..

I recently read Robert Stacy McCain’s 2009 article entitled How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog in Less Than a Year.  Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes the best title is the simplest one and what could be simpler than one linked by The Daily Gator with the unassuming title, Thanks to Stacy McCain?   I don’t know where the site was at the time, but the site counter now reflects The Daily Gator has received over two million hits.

I’ve been thinking of following his advise and not only by attempting to improve my content, my grammar, and my style of writing.  Any advise….??  I have to admit that it seems that my writing skills must have degenerated over time as I can tell you without fear of contradiction that prior to my entry into the exciting world of blogging I was one of my mother’s favorite writers.  As to Mr. McCain’s # 5, which essentially drives home the fact that sex sells, the fact of the matter is that against all odds my wife continues to reject my requests to promote my site by displaying a bit more of her cleavage.  I only have the one wife at the moment so that leaves me at a bit of a disadvantage.

This devastating loss of what might have been the very tool needed to catapult Aaron Investigates into the ranks of the elite bloggers club, thanks’ Hon,  leaves me no choice but to concentrate on some of the other strategies recommended by Mr. McCain in his article presently available at his blog site, The Other McCain.  I’m not about to steal his thunder by revealing every one of his points in this article, but maybe I should while chalking it up to his point #4 :

Make Some Enemies.   

Could it be I’m already on my way to recording my hitting that one million mark?
